These mountains are special for their no-tracks, no-people possibilities. ACMG-certified guides lead every day, and all our guides have 10+ years of experience.

Where we ski tour on the Duffey Lake Road

We choose each objective up to 48 hours ahead, to fit the weather and conditions. On the day, your guide picks the exact terrain based on the group, the avalanche hazard and the snow.

A guided ski touring day at Duffey Lake

We often meet in Pemberton for a quick latte, then hit the road. Sometimes we meet at a parking lot instead. Your guide adds the meet points to the Aurora app.

We prefer to drive out as a group in the Aurora van. The roadside pullouts are small, so one van makes parking easier. There is no cell coverage on the way, and in one van nobody gets separated.

We always keep one guide for every six guests. Mixed groups and more technical objectives also get a tail guide.

Duffey Lake days suit solid intermediate skiers and snowboarders, or better.

When to go, and overnights

The best time to ski here is January to April.

We can also run overnights up here. When we do, they can be base camp style.
