Hi,
Hope you are having a great week so far. We are getting close to the weekend so here an update for plans.
First of all the weather and snow conditions. The last couple of days have been fairly sunny except for today. So not much new snow to talk about. Also the 0 isotherm went up to about 2000 meter for a while so that has made some impact on the amount of soft snow to be found. It hasn´t been warm enough yet to transform the S sides to springsnow (and will now only get colder). So for now we search for the good snow high up and in North and East facing aspects. For the weekend the weather looks great with sunshine and little wind but cold (down to -20) , so adjust your clothing ;)
We are running two groups on Saturday and Sunday. On each of the days we have one group in the Duffy´s and one group in Whistler Blackcomb
In Whistler Blackcomb we have to get a bit further away from the resort to get away from tracked ground. So we´ll be heading towards the Trorey area. So be prepared for a bunch of transitions between skiing and skinning and some vertical meters to get there and back.
In the Duffys we head for Tzil mountain area on Saturday and Cayoosh mountain on Sunday. Both tours require a fair bit of skinning (rougly 1200 vertical meters) Of which the Cayoosh is the easier of them two.
Due to the conditions all options require a fair bit of skinning. If you feel unsure if your capable but keen to join don´t hesitate to get in touch we are happy to discuss options and do our best to make it work.
As you are used to you will get a separate message about the tour you signed up for with meeting times, place, gear, and so on.
Hope to see you coming weekend!
If we get one or two more people there will be means to split the group into 2 smaller more versatile groups! Just one more pass holder!!
